The Challenge

A major food-grade processing facility contacted Ramco Solutions with an ongoing issue related to their existing ergonomic work stands. These adjustable platforms were originally built using removable fiberglass grating for the standing surfaces. Over time, the grating had become:

  • Worn and smooth, losing its critical slip resistance

  • Splintered and deteriorated, creating safety hazards

  • Harder to clean, raising sanitation concerns in a food-grade environment

As worker safety, comfort, and sanitation are top priorities in the plant, the facility needed a new, long-lasting solution that could withstand daily use, be easily cleaned, and remain safe under wet conditions.

The Solution

Stainless Steel Adjustable Stands with Ramcoat Coating

Ramco Solutions designed and delivered a custom-engineered replacement for the old stands, combining ergonomics, hygiene, and safety into a single solution.

  1. Custom Fabrication
    We fabricated new adjustable ergonomic stands using durable stainless steel. The new platforms were designed to be height adjustable to suit different operator preferences and self-stowing to save floor space when not in use.

  2. Ramcoat Slip-Resistant Coating
    The standing surfaces of the platforms were treated with Ramcoat, our proprietary industrial stainless steel coating. Ramcoat adds a long-lasting, slip-resistant texture that significantly enhances traction—especially in wet or greasy environments common in food processing.

  3. Sanitation-Friendly Design
    Unlike fiberglass grating, which can trap debris and become porous over time, the Ramcoat-coated stainless surfaces are non-porous and easy to clean, meeting the plant’s stringent hygiene requirements.
